jan 27 SWAP!

Hello folks!

Mustard Seed Farm is sponsoring a swap Sat. Jan 27th!

SWAP THIS SATURDAY!

The Mustard Seed Community Farm is hosting a SWAP this saturday,
Jan 27, 6:30-8:30pm,
at the Collegiate United Methodist Church in Ames
2622 W. Lincoln Way
in the Wesley hall, which is the basement hall, easily accessed
through the east door at the bottom of the parking lot, near the
little USBank kiosk.

If you have things you no longer need, bring them to donate to the Swap.
Bring and invite friends, family, anyone who might need anything.
Take whatever you find at the Swap that you need or want, whatever's
leftover will be donated to community clothing drives and pantries.
Items could include clothing, books, kitchen gear, books, etc.

Doors will be open at 6pm, if you would like to bring things early or
help us set up. We will start "shopping" at 6:45, giving us all a few
minutes at the beginning to set things out and hear a few
announcements.

Answers to FAQs:
To keep things simple, we are only having a SWAP. there will be no
potluck, live music, soup, or square dance this time. This is not our
annual fundraising event (which might not happen this year), but if
you really want to bring snacks to share, or give the farm a donation,
we will not protest.

The SWAP is more of a gift economy exchange, and not a direct 1 for
1 trade. you can bring many things, or just one, or even nothing, and
take what you need. Just come with an attitude of generosity, and not
competition.

Please do not bring very large cumbersome items. We will have to
take these away at the end of the evening if they are not wanted.
instead, bring a picture of your item so if someone wants it, you can
arrange a pick-up.

please bring items in decent condition. However, the farm will be
happy to take sheets that are in poor condition, because we can dye
them and make rugs out of them.

The Central Iowa Barn Dance is happening that evening, across the
parking lot, at 130 S. Sheldon from 7:30-10:30 pm, so you can go to
both events for an even more exciting evening.

VOLUNTEERS: do you want to help? we could use help with set-up
(6pm), clean-up (8:30), welcoming (any time), and ESPECIALLY, with
taking a load of stuff in your car at the end to be delivered to a
donation site. please contact me if you are interested in helping.

Please join us for a fun, useful community event!!!
