Farm Update
Potlucks
Workdays

this is an email that nicholas wrote, with edits and additions from alice.

Farm Update
The farm continues to exist. Though we've gotten a bit of rain, it is still pretty dry. (alice heard a rumor that iowa is officially in a drought - not sure if this is true, but it's really dry. )We've just started harvesting our green beans this morning and our peas have finished. Our garlic is drying and we've started harvesting onions and other things.

Potlucks
Upcoming Potlucks:
June 29 (today!) Low Carbon Lifestyles in a High Carbon World
Neal and Jan Flora will share the idea of the difficulty of reducing personal pollution in a high-pollution social atmosphere.

July 6 Immigrant Readings and Stories
Karan Benton will be bringing readings telling the stories of immigrants, and we'll talk about them.

July 13 Immigrant issues in Story County
Coming closer to home, we'll have a presenter telling about their work with immigrants in the area.

July 20 Feminism
Guided by interests and passions of our attendees, we will explore the concept of feminism and how it relates to us and our daily lives.

As usual, potlucks consist of soccer at 5 PM, dinner at 6 PM, discussion at 7 PM, and done at 8PM, and occur at the farm: 366 W Ave, Ames, IA 50014

Workday
Only one workday scheduled at this point, we'll likely send an update with more:
Saturday, July 7, from 1-4 PM, we will have a workday. We will do various planting, weeding, and perhaps potato digging.
we won't be working that morning because we're going to a field day at the Tjelmend's farm. if you'd like to help out at the farm in the morning, call alice about working tuesday, wednesday, or friday mornings. 515-460-1467
