Swap!

a note from 12.17.15. our swap was a great success with great food, great folks, and lots of exchange of wonderful things. there was plenty leftover and lots of helpers so we were able to give good donations to the Bethesda clothing pantry, Clothing for Work, and the goodwill. we all had so much fun that I don't think anyone took any pictures. sorry about that! - alice

Mustard Seed Farm would like to invite everyone to a swap and potluck at 6:00 pm Dec. 12th, at Community of Christ Church, 104 N Wilmoth Ave, Ames, Iowa 50014

What is a swap? Well, a swap is where you come and bring things (clothes, books, chairs, etc anything) you want to give away (don't use, doesn't fit, duplicate). Then, being as lots of other people bring things too, you look through what's there and take anything that you like and could use as does everyone else. Its in the spirit of sharing and gifting to each other of free choice. Its an alternative way to do the holidays - its a great place to maybe find gifts for folks, without adding to the consumerist culture. We've got way too much stuff out there in the world as it is, lets share what we have! Whatever doesn't get taken from the swap, we'll donate.

What is a potluck? You probably know, but bring a dish to share and we'll all have a meal together to celebrate food and community in fine fashion.

Please come a little early if you have much stuff to swap so we can get it set up. We will eat first together, then do swap.
