Farm Update
Though there's been a bit of rain, the farm is still quite dry. So we've been doing quite a bit of watering. Perhaps because of this dry weather, and perhaps because of the early spring we had, lots of things are getting mature earlier. Mainly, our garlic is already quite big and ready to harvest. We actually plan to harvest it this Saturday (see below). Aside from watering, we've been quite busy planting our warm-season crops: tomatoes are transplanted and trellised, peppers and eggplants, and several sucessions of beans have alreadly been planted. We'll continue planting more beans and some further successions of herbs and carrots and fennell. We're also done with lettuce, and will be putting it into another crop, such as buckwheat for our bees or cilantro for us.
Potlucks and Soccer
As you've probably heard before, we're having potlucks every Friday on the farm. The farm location is 366 W Ave, Ames, IA, 50014 (6 miles west of Story City), and they're open to everyone. The times are 6 PM dinner, 7PM discussion, and 8 PM done. We're also starting this Friday to have soccer before the potluck, from 5 to 6 PM. Come exercise your mind, stomach, and now your body!

Workdays (Garlic Harvest)
We have a few workdays coming up:
This Saturday, June 16, from 8 AM to noon:
We'll be harvesting garlic, cleaning it, hanging it up, and sending garlic home with workers. It's always a real fun day, and a good way to get some hours in at our farm!
June 23rd, from 1 to 4 PM, with soccer afterword:
We'll be doing various farm tasks, including some weeding, some planting, and probably some watering. We'll conclude a little after four with some soccer, if we have enough people.
