Sorry about the double email, I've (Nicholas) been bad at communicating with my farm team members, as it is Christmas time. Anyway, Happy third day of solstice (if you live in the northern hemisphere, that means the days are now very slowly getting longer, and soon we'll plant some onions (but not as many as last year). So here are the next three potlucks (they may change slightly, as I can't quite remember one of the titles):

January 4th: Crude: a movie about environmental and health effects of oil mining in Ecuador.

The potluck will be at 6, and we'll probably start the movie, which is an hour and a half, at 7 PM, and will discuss a bit afterword.

Friday, February 1st, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM: "Creative Fidelity in a Changing Context: LCWR and U.S. Women Religious"

February, "our potluck" will be a little different, in that it won't be one the potlucks that we host, but an event that another group is putting on, the St Thomas Aquinas church. It will also not be a dinner, it will be part of the "Wisdom and Wine" series, which sounds like what it is, wine will be provided, and you should bring a snack to eat at the event, which will be in Angels, Kitchen, Lower Lounge of St Thomas Aquinas church, at 2210 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa 50014. The event will feature Sr. Pat Farrel, OSF, past president of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, and she'll likely be talking about some disputes the leadership conference of women religious has been having with the Vatican lately. March 1, from 6 to 8 PM: Denise O'Brien, talking about rural life, history, and the environment

March 1, we'll be back to our normal set up, at 704 Duff Ave, Ames, IA, 50010, with a potluck dinner at 6PM and a discussion at 7. Denise will lead the discussion, talking about her past work with the women, food and ag network, and the conservation of Iowa's resources.
