Hi All! We start TOMORROW at 9am for the Natural Building Class! Feeling a little out of the loop and unprepared? No worries, you're still welcome to come and join us!
Where am I going?
Mustard Seed Community farm's address is at 366 W Ave, Ames, IA 50014. However, we're in Boone County. So check out this map (http://goo.gl/maps/2SCq6) to make sure you're headed to the right place, 10 miles north of Ames and 5 miles west. Sometimes GPS units steer people the wrong way.
What should I bring?
Make sure you're ready to get dirty! Long pants and sturdy shoes are necessary. If you have work gloves or ear and eye protection, bring them also as our supply at the farm is limited.
If you plan on camping overnight, make sure you touch base with Alice and let her know so we can accomodate you. Her number is (515) 460-1467.
But I don't have that much time!
It's okay, we get that you have a job or are writing a thesis or have other personal obligations. The class isn't full so we can still take some more people who need more flexibility with their schedule. If you want to come out for a day, two, three, or four, just give Alice a call the day before and leave a voice message to let her know you're coming. Her number is (515) 460-1467.
But that's too much money!
We're asking $200 for the week-long class to pay for our instructor Beth for her planning and time. She's put a lot of hard work into this class, and comparable classes around the US are much more expensive. We ask that you contribute what you can, but we don't want financial barriers to prevent you from coming out and learning with us.
Ultimately, we just want you to come build with us! This is a very unique opportunity to locally learn natural building, so we don't want you to miss out!
