An exciting new thing that we are participating in this year is the farm to clinic program with the Primary Health Care Clinic. this is bringing our fresh veggies at half price to pregnant women, new mothers, and folks with diabetes, along with nutrition education from their midwife and an intern at the clinic. We calculated the value of last year's CSA box, and it was worth more than $1,000 if you had bought it at the store or market. So already, the $400 box is a super deal, and then it is halved again. Did I mention that I'm really excited about this program? it makes me really happy to share good food with people!
you can read about it on Wheatsfield's website (its the coop nickel donation this month also)
