I hope you are all staying warm and cozy, and that holiday cheer is cheering you and not overwhelming you!

I just wanted to reach out to see if anyone was interested in helping out with misc winter things in the next few weeks and/or months.In the winter, everything is different on the farm, but we are still busy with important work!  We are looking for volunteers of all kinds - one time helpers to new farm team members; help on the farm, to things you can do at home.
Things that we could use help with in the winter:indoor tasks:  
- finishing the new building: drywall finishing, sanding, painting, shelf building  
-organizing: I got a new (used) filing cabinet and we could organize the farm archives      
- tool organizing in new building  
-seed inventory followed by seed ordering
outside tasks:   
-sawing wood, hauling wood  
- there's still some mulching left to do
at home tasks:   
-helping with volunteer organizing   
-helping a committee: fundraising, event organizing, and more
in town:   
-going to farm team meetings (planning and decision making for the farm) (next meeting, January 12)   
-going to the hunger collaboration meeting as a farm representative (next meeting, Dec 19, see below)  The hunger collaboration is a monthly meeting of the many organizations that are working on hunger issues in Story Co.  It's a cool meeting.   
-coming to our fun winter events (learn to spin wool, followed by potluck and discussion, Jan 25)

If the weather is halfway decent, there are lots of options on the farm.  We can work outside or heat up the new building for those inside tasks.  Potentially, we could use help on someTuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays or Saturdays, if enough people are interested, and the weather looks good enough.  I would be very interested in having help this Friday anytime, and Saturday afternoon, because the weather looks great for winter. if you are interested in any of these particular tasks, or if there is a T,W,F,SAT, that is looking good in your schedule, please call or text Alice to make a plan. 978-471-8414  Please don't just show up, because it takes a while to heat up that building.
