more details about YARN SPINNING WORKSHOP+ This event has 3 parts. You don't need to come to all three parts - you can choose to come to 1, 2, or all three. Saturday January 25: 307 8th st. Ames2-5pm - yarn spinning workshop: We will learn from amazing fiber artist Marilyn Anderson how to spin wool into yarn. We will have lots of tools and supplies (3 spinning wheels, drop spindles, carders, raw wool, drum carder) but feel free to bring your own tools and fibers (like cotton, wool, silk)5-6pm - potluck dinner6-7pm - discussion about craft, human scale economics, beauty, catholic social teaching and catholic worker philosophy on work, labor, human dignity, and the common good (led by alice mcgary)
If you know that you are coming to the workshop portion, an RSVP could help us plan supplies, but please feel very encouraged to come even if you aren't able to RSVP.
