We are excited about this plant and seed sharing event, so it's on the top of the stack, but below it you will find the calendar of virtual events and zoom link. here's a very fun poster made by Annie Panthani:
The Mustard Seed Community Farm invites you to a SEEDLING AND SEED EXCHANGE!
WHEN: Saturday, May 15, 9 - 12 am
WHERE: in front of the AMES ROMERO HOUSE, 709 Clark Ave., Ames
COVID SAFETY: please wear a mask and practice social distancing
WHY: This event is in the sharing and loving spirit of a gift economy exchange! Let us share abundance as a community - if you have extra plants or seeds, bring them to share! If you need plants or seeds, take some home with you! This is not a 1-for-1 trade, so you can bring many plants, one plant, no plants... and take what you need :)
WHAT TO BRING: A mask, seedlings (ideally labeled and hardened off), seeds that can still be planted after May 15, a box for the plants you take home with you, empty seed packets. If your seeds and seedlings come with a story, please feel free to bring that in writing to share!
PLANT POTS: Do you have plastic seedling pots (such as 2" pots that fit in trays, 4-packs, 6-packs) or other plant pots that could be reused? Please also bring them to share!
Come join us for PLANTS! sharing! generosity! community!
(If you are unable to attend or would like to give/receive plants outside of this event, consider joining the "Ames garden swap and gab" group on Facebook - it is a very active and sharing local community)
We will also be sharing our new APOCALYPSE GARDEN KIT/ GOOD FOOD EVERYDAY GARDEN KIT- a 10 plant beginner gardening kit (plus some seeds) with instruction booklet. The plants in this kit are easy to grow and productive in Iowa, and designed to give you daily food, nutrition, and flavor from June-October. We will have these kits available for sale (at other times and locations), for gift, or donation throughout May.
