SEED SAVING CLASS WED 7/27, POTLUCK FRI 7/29, and more!

Here's a re-visit of an old poster for this year's SEED SAVING CLASS. (Poster and class by Alice McG)

WHY would you want to learn to SAVE SEEDS?
- To save money
- To better care for and get to know our amazing plant kin
- To continue this intergenerational relationship between humans, plants, and food
- To preserve heritage crops and genetic diversity
- To grow crops particularly suited to your area and climate
- To adapt in real time to climate change
- To adapt the crop for a particular trait
- To make sure that you can find the seeds you want
- To Build Community Resilience
- To keep corporations from controlling the worlds food supply
- Because seeds are amazing miracles!?!?!
Whether your reasons are practical or sacred, we can get you started on your seed-saving adventures!

Come out to the farm tomorrow and learn about flowers, pollinators, plant reproduction, seeds, and seed saving. We will collect some seeds during the class that you can take home, along with sharing practical hand-outs and reference sheets.

Nature Share Roundtable & Potluck
- Great event for families and people of all ages!
Friday, July 29 from 6-8 PM

Join us at the farm for this family-friendly potluck and roundtable discussion! We will start the roundtable by taking a short walk around the prairie. Then, everyone is invited to give a 1-5 minute "nature share." Maybe you want to talk about something you saw in the prairie, maybe you want to talk about your favorite plant or animal. It's up to you! This will be a fun conversation where we can share our love for the natural world with one another.
