We are excited to invite you to a craft retreat at Mustard Seed Farm from Friday, October 21 - Sunday, October 23.

The weekend will be filled with all kinds of workshops and opportunities to learn new skills and make new friends. This retreat is open to our community members and friends of Mustard Seed Farm. If you know someone who would enjoy attending, please invite them.

Our Schedule Is:

Friday
2:00 PM : Intro to Woven Rag Rugs with Alice McGary
4:00 PM : Quilting Basics with Greta Anderson
6:00 PM : Potluck (please bring a dish to share if you are able)
7:00 PM : Bonfire and Community Singing led by Solveig Orngard

Saturday
7:00-8:30 AM : Breakfast
9:00 AM : Wool Dyeing / Woven Rag Rugs with Alice McGary
10:00-12:00 PM : Crochet with Ashley Morton

12:00 PM : Lunch

1:00-2:00 PM : Fiber Processing / Spinning with Marilyn Anderson
2:00-5:00 PM : Garment Making (sewing a pair of drawstring pants from a pattern) with Judy Lemish
6:00 PM : Dinner
7:00 PM : Free time! (field trip to central iowa barn dance??)

Sunday
7:00-10:00 AM : Breakfast / Free Morning
10:00-12:00 : Eco-Printing

You are welcome to come for the whole weekend or just a few of the workshops. Because we want to ensure the best experience for everyone, we need to keep class sizes small for our workshops. All will be limited to 10-15 participants. Sign ups will be first come, first serve, and you will be contacted if the workshop you've signed up for is full.
Some activities (like rag rug weaving, quilting, spinning, dyeing, and knitting) will be ongoing, so you can get a little coaching or guidance on these skills even if you can't make the scheduled session.

This is a free event, but if you are able to make a donation to help us cover the cost of supplies and meals, we would appreciate it. We are also looking for a couple people who could contribute a soup or salad for our lunch on Saturday.
