SWEET POTATO PARTY and a notice from nate from sept 9

Hello all!

This is Nate here sitting in for Alice, who's living largely under the email radar these days. So she says please CALL her if you need to be in touch. Like if you'd like to connect with some excellent fresh farm food, cause there's tons left out there. Give her a call @ 515 460 1467 to set something up.

This message also is relay news about important upcoming events you don't want to miss.

1) this FRIDAY the 11th of Sept, as part of the Days of Global Unity observance, there will be at Mustard Seed Farm a POTLUCK (6:00 p.m.) and DISCUSSION (7:00). The discussion will involve issues of unity and peacemaking on this anniversary of 9/11. The potluck will involve eating! If you want to help do some work at the farm (a great way to spend the afternoon), come early - anytime after 3:00 is fine.

2) SWEET POTATO PARTY!
It will be on SUNDAY SEPT 27. Come share in the joy of harvesting sweet potatoes and join in for a potluck afterward. Come for all or any of the event. Bring appropriate clothing and your choice of edible-iciousness. Members of the Porch Stomper old time band will be there to entertain. Hope to see you there!
HARVEST; from 3 - 4:30
POTLUCK; from 4:30 -

3) Mustard Seed's regularish Friday evening meals and discussion will continue with sure things on Sept 25th and Oct. 2nd & 9th. We'll see about Sept 18th (call to check - it might just happen). Bring something to share. We'd love to have you be there.

As a last note, just like to say the farm is really interesting this time of year as we transition into Fall-time. Its cool to see the cover crops going in. The brussel sprouts are very impressive. The grasses around us blend into their auburn autumn shades. Lots else. You should see it. Its good working weather too. You don't get so hot. Anyway, thanks for lending me your eyes. (And write down those dates!)

Peace, Nate
