2021 CSA!!!!

First CSA Delivery starts this week!

hello wonderful members!
thanks for your patience at this amazingly full and busy time of year!  After last weeks rain, the crops and the weeds are growing like crazy.  we are trying to keep on top of planting and weeding and training our new workers and it's hard to find computer time.

important things to note for this first box:

  1. The early season vegetables are things that grow quickly and early - so there's a lot of leafy things and perennial crops.  some of these are more unusual.  There's a few eating and cooking tips in the newsletter, and more on our website under the Recipes and uncommon and extraordinary vegetables tab: http://mustardseedfarm.org/?q=node/404we also love sharing recipes.  if you have a great recipe for the veggies in the box, please share it with us (at this email) or with each other through our facebook group - mustard seed community farm friends. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1532573377044111

2. Please always wash your veggies before cooking and eating.  We try to give you vegetables in a form that is best for their health and storage.  For some veggies that means not washing them (potatoes, onions, garlic, berries).  Even the ones that we washed, it's still just a great idea to rinse all vegetables before eating them, no matter where they come from.

3. Please leave out your waxed box for us to get the following week If it's in good shape, we will use it again and again.  We also will re-use plastic clamshell berry containers and egg cartons.  we love it best if these are clean when we pick them up.  The waxed boxes easily disassemble without any ripping or tearing.  if my little illustrated instructions don't make sense, just leave the box assembled for us to pick up.

4. Let us know how to stay connected with you.  Do you want a paper newsletter or is email just fine?  do you like instagram or facebook or our website?  do you want to come out to visit?we have 2 facebook locations (the second is  https://www.facebook.com/mustardseed.communityfarm )and an instagram https://www.instagram.com/mustardseedcommunityfarm/ we are trying to keep all these somewhat up to date.
